Harleysville National Corp. Friday reported a $222.5 million second-quarter net loss, most of which was driven by a noncash goodwill impairment charge of $214.5 million that the bank said it had to take because of its pending sale to First Niagara Financial Group. (HNBC)

Interline Brands Inc. reported that sales dropped 13.3 percent in the second quarter compared to the same period last year. Earnings per diluted share were down 41 percent to 20 cents for the second quarter. Earnings per diluted share for the second quarter included a 4 cent per diluted share charge associated with the previously announced consolidation of certain distribution centers and closing of certain under performing professional contractor showrooms. The Board of Commissioners of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kan., approved a $250.1 million 2010 budget late Thursday that includes employee furloughs, hiring and pay freezes, public works project suspensions, and service and program cuts of at least 10 percent, all aimed at meeting a nearly $12 million revenue shortfall.
