Alaska Airlines to fly from SEA to Philadelphia, Fort Lauderdale

Alaska Airlines said it will begin service from Seattle to Philadelphia in June and from Seattle to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. in July. The unit of Seattle-based Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE: ALK) said when it introduces its Seattle-Fort Lauderdale service on July 16, it will end service between Seattle and Miami, a route the airline has been flying for 10 years. "Philadelphia is one of the largest cities we don't currently serve from Seattle while Fort Lauderdale is a popular departure point for cruise ship passengers," said Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines' vice president of marketing, in a statement.
