Immigration opponents look to state automakers for support

Opponents of Alabama's crackdown on illegal immigration are looking to the state’s three international automakers for help in fighting for repeal of the law, which Gov. Robert Bentley and Republicans only want to tweak in the upcoming legislative session. According to the Associated Press, critics of the law said during a telephone conference with reporters on Monday that they have sent letters to Mercedes-Benz parent Daimler AG, Honda and Hyundai seeking meetings to discuss the law, parts of which have been put on hold by federal courts…
