KC fights to keep proposed Marine data center project

Kansas City Mayor Sly James and others are urging the U.S. Marine Corps to keep its information technology data center in Kansas City, The Kansas City Star reports. New Orleans officials are trying to lure the facility to their Federal City redevelopment project along the Mississippi River. The facility is located in what used to be the Internal Revenue Service center at 2306 East Bannister Road and employs about 400 federal contract workers with an average salary of about $90,000. James is joined by the governors of both Kansas and Missouri and the congressional delegations in both states to keep the center in Kansas City, the Star said…
