Downtown Seattle: Rosy outlook despite heavy job losses in past years

Downtown Seattle lost 15 percent of its private-sector jobs between 2000 and 2010 – more than seven times the loss seen throughout the Puget Sound region. That's one of the conclusions reported today in the Downtown Seattle Association's annual State of Downtown report. The report lays out a generally optimistic picture for downtown, citing a growing number of residents, ongoing transit improvements and an improving outlook for employment.
