Ex-bank regulator hired by industry group

Kevin Murphy, formerly Minnesota's top banking regulator, has joined the state's banking industry group. The Minnesota Bankers Association (MBA) said Wednesday it has hired Murphy, who stepped down as the deputy commissioner of financial institutions at the Minnesota Department of Commerce in December. Murphy will lead the MBA's bank visit program, which brings MBA officials to member banks to "ensure that the association remains focused on all the appropriate banking issues and that its products and services provide real value to MBA member banks," the MBA said in a news release…
