Target parts ways with Michael Graves after 13 years

Target Corp. and industrial designer Michael Graves are ending their 13-year partnership. The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal reports that the last of the Michael Graves Design Collection for Target will arrive in stores next month. Graves, who began working with Target (NYSE: TGT) in 1999, helped design more than 2,000 Target products, including the Pop Art Toaster and the Spinning Whistle Teakettle. The designs helped establish Target's "cheap chic" reputation, which it since has expanded by partnering with dozens of other designers from a variety of fields.
